“ My experience here was positive. I went after the lunch rush so there were a few empty tables when it was my turn to order and I was fortunate I didn't have to navigate a crowd or wait. If you read the signs before entering the restaurant, you'll know exactly what to expect. For those that don't agree with the written statements, then it is a choice before entering whether you want to dine there. I'll admit the rules come off firm and, it helps manage expectations for all. The lady who helped me was friendly and our exchanges were pleasant as she was with everyone else I observed while I ate my lunch. I enjoyed my fish n chips and was on my way. ”
“ This place is great fish and chips was amazing! Probably my favorite Tatar sauce. Love it ”
“ It might be a little bit harsh to call this place a fish Nazi but I see where it's coming from. If I was equival I would say they put you in a bit of a catch-22. They don't have enough room for everyone to sit down when they're busy. So if you get your food to go, they have a sign that says don't throw away your trash from your to-go food there. I think that's the least they could do to help people who take their food to go outside and sit in their car and eat and then want to get on their way without having fish smelling trash in their car. They have rules for things you wouldn't imagine. But they're a small space. They have good food, pretty good prices so they need to manage the resources as best they can, which probably explains most of it. I appreciate the "wait until you order before you sit down" rule as it keeps people who got in line after you from snagging the last table, leaving you to stand. I had the halibut the wife had the cod. They are both really quite good. I think I would probably just go for the cod as it seems like it's about as much fish as the halibut for a few dollars less. The halibut might have been a little bit firmer but all the food is cooked to order, very quickly and served hot and fresh. That's really important to me for any fried food. I was wondering if I had enough french fries but I had plenty by the time I finished. You can't really game the system because if you phone in your order it's a to-go order and if you have a to go order you can't sit anywhere except maybe in a couple of chairs next to the wall while you're waiting for your food to be delivered.h ”
“ Yummy fish and chips! Service was good, cashier and server was friendly. A little yellow restaurant, simple, no frills, cozy. I had the sampler basket with cod, halibut, shrimp and curly fries. The batter was thin, well seasoned and the fish flaky, delish! The shrimp was good too. The basket comes with fries and coleslaw. The curly fries was good, crunchy, i wasnt a fan of the slaw. We also got an order of fish tacos and it was good as well. Prices were decent, affordable and servings were good. Will definitely be back when we are in the area ”
“ This place had really good fish and chips. The peices of fish are huge and the breeding is light. The tarter sauce was perfect! The clam chowder isn't good. It's too thick and not a lot of clams. The diner has a cute 50s vibe. Although its so bright lit in there, you kinda feel like you're eating in a fishbowl when it's dark outside. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our food came out fast. I will definitely come back here for the fish and chips. It's probably one of the best places to get it in LC. ”
“ First time here so ordered the four piece, fish and chips. It included halibut, cod, and two pieces of shrimp. The baskets also include coleslaw and fries. It was delicious and perhaps my favorite was the cod. The fish was hot and lightly breaded. The fish came out quickly and with a smile. I ended up getting a soda refill for $.50. The place is small with comfortable vibe. Locals order on phone To go because there is limited seating. I will be back! ”
“ Visiting Lincoln City and we stopped at J's Fish and Chips for lunch at my suggestion. Since this is a smaller restaurant and they were a bit packed, we decided to take our lunch back to the beach house we're staying in. We walked in and were instantly greeted by the lady at the counter. I ordered a fish sandwich with fries on the side and my boyfriend ordered a 3 piece halibut with fries on the side. The menu didn't specify what type of fish they had on my sandwich, but I believe it was either cod or haddock. While it was a little busy, we didn't have to wait too long for our food to come out. Now I think this was the best fish and chips I've had so far during my time here. The fish sandwich and the halibut were so delicious and so flavorful! I think this will be our go-to lunch spot anytime we come back to visit Lincoln City during the summer. Highly recommended if you're looking for great fish and chips. ”
